Before you have your first video therapy session, ensure the following:

  • Discuss with your therapist the pros and cons of video therapy.
  • Test your internet speed, for example on https://www.speedtest.net . Speeds of 10Mbps or more will provide best experience.
  • Prepare a quiet, private and safe place for taking the calls.

A few minutes before your session, prepare the following:

  • Ensure you have a strong internet connection, best via Wifi.
  • Close all background programs. Best is to restart the computer, mobile phone or tablet.
  • Confirm that the webcam and microphone are enabled and that the audio is not muted.

If you cannot get to the waiting room or have difficulties during the session:

  • Contact your therapist immediately and pursue alternatives, for example switching  to a simple phone call.
  • Consider using a combination of doxy.me for the video connection and your regular mobile or landline phone for audio connection.
